I've been waiting for someone who knows more than I do about this, but the time has come. Macy competed in the state bowling tournament in Lincoln this morning and she was hot....she received a gold ribbon. Maybe some of her family can add to the details!

flies
by: Flip on August 4, 2010, 11:04 am

To whom it may concern: My bags with pennies are back on the porch. After getting rid of them this weekend, we were sitting on the porch Mon and Tues night and the flies were really bugging (pardon the expression) us. So.....back to the water bags with pennies. No flies so far. We are sold!

RAGBRAI pt 2
by: El_Josharino on August 1, 2010, 11:35 am

I got home from Ragbrai last night. Derek, you really missed out, we had a grand time. The route was really pleasant, quite a bit less hilly than last year, but still pretty exciting. The first day might have been the hardest route, so that made the rest of the week seem nicer by comparison.
The longest days were about 80 miles, most of them were around 60, which wasn't too bad. Thursday was the only day I didn't bike at all, because we had to take turns driving our truck with all the camping gear and such. On Friday we got hit with a huge thunderstorm. A lot of people didn't like riding in it, but I though it was really fun. On Saturday we hit a HUGE downhill, the elevation dropped about 400 feet in just over a mile. I was really flying there, based on some bikers near me that had a speedometer, I was probably going at least 45 mph. That momentum quickly ended, though, when we had to go back up another hill that was just as steep. We got to Dubuque yesterday afternoon, relaxed a bit, and then drove home last night. Overall, it was a really great week.

the missing cookies
by: Flip on July 28, 2010, 9:25 pm

First of all, where did you leave the cookies? Also what hours were the cookies out of your sight? Grandpa says, could you possibly have eaten the missing cookies and lost count?
