Presentation

Hey Augies,
Sorry I haven't posted this here sooner, it's been a wild week. Just want anyone interested to know that our group of photojournalism students are giving a presentation of all our stories at the Ross Theater in Lincoln on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Free to attend, will probably last about an hour and a half. I know its a long drive for that, but if you're bored or in the neighborhood it'd be a joy to see ya. If you come, I'd advise getting there around 5:30 because the theater seats about 140 but with it being a one-time presentation we might be seeing a packed house.

Here's the address for the Ross: 313 North 13th Street Lincoln, NE 68508

Easy to get to, just take highway 34 into downtown, take a left on P street and go to 13th and you're right in the neighborhood. Parking might be a challenge but there are garages nearby.

Our presentations will be on a website within the next couple of months, too, so you'll be able to see it soon regardless.

Hope all is well! I'm obviously keeping plenty busy doing all this presentation stuff, trying to keep up with my new classes and doing some work here and there. Hope to see you all soon though.

Hey Augs!
by: fergaset on January 13, 2012, 1:29 pm

Well it feels like it has been quite a while since I have seen everyone. I hope everyone is great!

Right now I am on my way to Peoria, Illinois with some friends for a business conference and I am so excited! Thank goodness I write my own schedule for work, because I decided to give myself a five day weekend. (Thank goodness for this business so I am able to afford a five day weekend.)

Anyway nothing else is new with me. Working non-stop it seems like right now, but it will be worth it a couple years from now.
Happy 2012 Augs!

Back in USA
by: jonnybones on January 9, 2012, 12:43 pm

Hey Augies,
Made it back to the USA late last night. Long flights from Bishkek to London and London to Chicago have left my butt sore. School starts today so I have lots to do. It was a great trip and I'll have plenty of stories to tell when I see you all again. Glad to be back!

Back from the middle of nowhere
by: jonnybones on January 6, 2012, 7:14 am

Hey Augies
Got back to civilization after a week and a half in a crazy wild coal mining town. Barely made it out without losing my mind. Here is a link to a blog post I wrote about it that should explain the place further. Flying back to USA in two days. Gonna spend the weekend sipping beer and editing photos. Hope all is well back home.

Going to Tash-Komur
by: jonnybones on December 27, 2011, 12:45 am

Hey Augies-
Halfway through my trip and feeling the pressure of getting all my work done. Very little time for play, but have been able to enjoy some Russian beers and delicious food. Was working on documenting some families in a squatter camp north of Bishkek but today I'm flying with another student and our NY Times photographer guy to a small town called Tash-Komur. Could potentially be there for the rest of the trip if we find a good story. We're going to be trying to document children working in coal mines up in the mountains. Should be beautiful but I'll miss hanging out with all my new Kyrgyz friends in Bishkek. New Years is the "big" holiday here and I guess Bishkek goes crazy with fireworks and parties, so I'm bummed that I'm going to miss that. Wish I had a few more weeks here, it is a very cool experience and despite being different from USA in many ways, I really like it here. People have been very kind and interesting. Keep an eye on that blog for more pictures to come in the next couple days. Hope you are all well.
